Salem Splits Wins with WildCats




  • In game two, Salem couldn't get their bats going.
  • First-year, Brianne Coleman hit a home run over left field bringing Salem back into the game last minute at the top of the 6th.
  • Salem fought but just couldn't find the win in the second game.


LYNCHBURG, Va. — After a spirited 12-3 victory in the first game, Randolph was able to eke out a 2-3 win in the seventh inning of the second game of the doubleheader Thursday.

The WildCats got off to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning of game one, but the Spirits tied it with a run in the second inning and then broke away in the top of the third with eight runs.

The Spirits tallied three more runs in the fifth inning.

In game two, the Spirits just couldn't get their bats going. They were held to just two scoreless hits until the top of the sixth inning when Brianne Coleman smacked a two-run homer to tie the game.

The WildCats scored again in the bottom of the seventh which sealed the game.
