Winston-Salem, NC- In the last game before heading into Thanksgiving Break, Salem hosted Guilford College in a non-conference match-up. Both teams heading into the contest, were coming off of losses in their previous games. Salem fell to the Quakers in a final score of 50-62, dropping to 0-5 on the season.
Spirits were unable to get into an offensive rhythm, being hindered by committing 26 turnovers and being out-rebounded 43-56. Bright spots of the game were Makalla Burnette (12) and Chaniece Moss (12) combined to score 24 points for the Spirits. Also, Aaliyah Webb posted another double-digit rebounding effort with 11 boards.
Salem basketball looks to bounce back next week as they host three home contests, beginning with a match-up versus Bob Jones University, on Tuesday, November 27th. Tip-off is 7:00 pm.
