Salem Tennis played their final match of the 2025-26 season in Raleigh, NC, where they took down Meredith College 5-2. 

The Spirits got off to a hot start, winning at both Nos. 2 & 3 to clinch the doubles point. Kimberly Ortiz Mendoza and Adley Keim made quick work of their opponents at No. 3, not dropping a game on their way to a 6-0 win. Yuridia Santana-Dominguez and Daisy Ortiz Mendoza were not far behind, taking down their opponents at No. 2 6-3. Charlize Green and LaKasia Williams fell in a tight 4-6 match at No. 1. 

Keim kept her momentum rolling in singles, taking home the win at No. 1 6-3, 6-1. D. Ortiz Mendoza did the same at No. 5, beating her opponent 6- 6-3. Williams bounced back after her loss in doubles to take care of business at No. 3, winning 6-3, 6-3. 

Three Spirits took their matches the distance and played third set tiebreakers. After winning the first set 6-4 at No. 4, K. Ortiz Mendoza dropped set two 3-6. A back-and-forth breaker ensued, with K. Ortiz Mendoza landing on top with a tight 11-9 final score. At No. 2, Green also won the first set 6-4, then dropped set two 4-6. The Angels were able to take the tiebreaker 10-6. Puja Lamsal played two tiebreakers in her match, starting her day off with a 6-7 (2-7) first set. Bouncing back quickly, Lamsal took set two 6-3. Despite the comeback, the Angels were able to reset and win the breaker 10-5.
