FIRST YEAR (2025 / BEACH VOLLEYBALL): Competed alongside Anna Rymer on 15 occasions, closing with three wins, including two as the No. 2 seed and one from the No. 3 seed … also played a pair of matches with Ellie Scherer as Salem’s No. 1 seed … competed in the first 12 matches of the season as the No. 2 seed for the Spirits alongside Anna Rymer … began the season with a 21-18, 21-12 victory over Leilani Campbell / Katherine James (Spartanburg Methodist) on February 15th … split the opening day (Feb. 15) by falling in two sets to Kyra McKinney / Cayleigh Pellitier (St. Andrews) by margins of 21-8, 21-10 … Leah Rymer and Anna Rymer put the brakes on a four-match losing skid with a three-set triumph over Jenna Luquer and Caroline Bradford (Sandhills CC) by scores of 21-12, 21-19 in the clash of No. 2 seeds … fought through three sets with Anna Rymer before falling at Wingate (March 21) to the tandem of Ella Harm and Naomi Hilliard (21-15, 21-23, 15-13) … suffered setbacks in the next five matches, all as the No. 2 seed, alongside Anna Rymer … competed in a pair of matches against St. Andrews’ tandem of Kyra McKinney and Cayleigh Pellitier (April 8) alongside Scherer … the pair, who were the No. 1 seeds for the Spirits, suffered setbacks of 22-20, 21-18  and 21-17, 21-16 in the clash … opened the at the Briggs Beach Bash hosted by Berry College by serving as the No. 3 seed with Anna Rymer where the pair suffered a 20-22, 21-15, 15-10 setback to Eva Ellenberg and Jessi Hilyer (Huntingdon) on April 11th … fell in two sets to Kara Schmitt and Madie Whitehead (Berry) later that afternoon by scores of 21-18, 21-10 … put the finishes touches on the season by dominating Katilyn Gilchrist and Claire Titus (LaGrange) on April 12th by scores of 21-5, 25-23 at the Briggs Beach Bash hosted by Berry College.Â
FIRST YEAR (2024 / VOLLEYBALL): Finished as one of the most acclaimed rookies in the history of both the Salem program as well as the USA South Athletic Conference in 2024 … became just the fifth player in USA South Conference history and first since Averett's Keenan Marks in 2015, to earn a five Rookie of the Week honor from the league in a single season … joins Dana Sandknop (Greensboro), Karlie Long (Meredith), Hannah Shields (Averett) and Marks (Averett) as the only players in league history to earn at least five Rookie of the Week honors … became the first player in Salem volleyball history to eclipse 1,000 assists in a single season, finishing off the season with 1,140 (8.70 assists/set) … was second in both digs (371) and service aces (35) for Salem … dished out at least 30 assists on 21 occasions … reached the 40-assist mark on eight occasions … responsible for at least 30 assists in 13 in of Salem’s 18 USA South Conference matches … posted 20 double-double performances over the course of the season … made her collegiate debut against Lynchburg (August 30), closing with 23 assists and 13 digs … followed that with 19 assists and 15 digs later that same day at Averett … continued her solid play with a 19-assist, 12-dig outing in a clash with Guilford (August 31) … reached 30 digs (34) for the first time in a five-set clash with Ferrum (September 6) … responsible for a single-match season-high three service against Hollins (September 7) …  led Salem to a five-set win over Greensboro (September 19) with 31 assists, 14 digs and two service aces … came through with 20 assists and 15 digs the following day at Pfeiffer … responsible for 42 assists and 12 digs at Brevard (September 24) … established her single-match season-high in assists (47) and digs (20), adding three service aces, in a four-set win over William Peace (October 5) … topped off her fifth consecutive double-double (34 assists / 11 digs) against Carolina University (October 5) … handed out 41 assists in a league clash with Brevard (October 8) … emerged with 28 assists and three service aces against Carolina University (October 12) … contributed 41 assists and 13 digs in a four-set victory against Methodist (October 15) … reached 40 assists at Pfeiffer (October 19), giving Salem a three-set win … began a four-match double-double stretch with 46 assists and 14 digs against Southern Virginia (October 30) … followed that with 28 assists, 13 digs versus Eastern Mennonite (November 2); 40 assists, 13 digs at William Peace (November 2) before posting 43 assists and 13 digs at Meredith (November 6) … closed out her regular season with 41 assists and seven digs against Roanoke (November 9) … delivered 39 assists to go along with 13 digs in a first round win in the USA South Conference Tournament over Brevard (November 12) … contributed 31 assists and 12 digs in the Semifinals of the USA South Conference Tournament as Salem downed William Peace (November 14) in straight sets … responsible for 37 assists and 19 digs in the USA South Conference Tournament Championship at Southern Virginia (November 16).
PREP: Graduated from South Rowan High School in 2024 … played four years for the Raiders under the direction of head coach Jenna Horne … integral part of guiding the team to the league championships in both the 2020-21 and 2023-24 campaigns … an All-Conference performer on four occasions (2020-23) and recipient of All-County accolades on three occasions (2020, 2021, 2023) … member of the Rowan County Volleyball Club for five years, coached by both Horne and Barry Rymer.Â
PERSONAL: Leah Rymer … daughter of Amy and Barry Rymer … born on November 25, 2005 … has one sibling, Anna, who is also a Salem volleyball player … daughter of Spirits head coach Barry Rymer … graduated with a 4.0 unweighted GPA … member of National Honor Society … also active in HOSA Club, Chick-Fil-A Leadership Club and FCA Club.Â
