Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College softball team lost two non-conference games
against Randolph College. After falling behind 7-0 in the 1st game, the Spirits rallied back to fall just short (8-6). In the 2nd game, Randolph pulled out an 8-2 win.
Kristi Morton (Trussville, AL) and
Kierston Garner (Danbury, NC) continued their hot play with each having 4 hits on the day. Salem falls to 4-12 overall, and Randolph improves to 15-3.
Lexi Perez (Mount Ulla, NC) received the loss on the mound in the 1st game giving up 7 runs on 8 hits. Allie Watkins (Locust, NC) only allowed 10 hits and 5 earner runs in 10 innings pitched.
Garner crushed her 3rd home-run of the season in the bottom of the 1st in game two. Garner and Amber Bass (Clinton, NC) each had 2 runs batted in. Karson Chapman (Lewisville, NC) finished with 3 runs to lead the Spirits today. Chapman also had a triple in the 2nd game.
The Spirits return to action at home next week in GSAC play against Covenant on March 16th.
