Softball cruises to win against Keene St.

Virginia Beach, VA-The Salem College softball team cruised to a win against Keene State. Lauryn Smith and Hannah Nolan held Keene to just three runs in seven innings. The Spirits improved to 4-6 after also beating Frostburg State earlier in the day. 

Kierston Garner and Briana Crumley had huge days at the plate as they each went 3 for 4. Britani Peterson and Hannah Nolan each had 2 hits. Garner finished with 3 runs, while Crumley scored twice and hit a double. Peterson led the team with 3 runs batted in.

Smith pitched 3 innings and gave up 1 run on 4 hits. Nolan pitched 4 innings and gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. Salem had 3 big innings as they scored twice in the first, 3 runs in the fifth, and 4 runs in the seventh. 

Salem will take on Randolph-Macon and Roanoke today in Virginia Beach.
