-USA South All-Sportsmanship Team (2025)

SOPHOMORE (2025): A key cog in the Salem lineup, finishing 7-for-21 (.333 batting average) from the plate as she had two RBI and two doubles in 14 games (seven starts) … made her season debut against Columbia International (Feb. 14) … led the way for the Salem offense in game two of Covenant (March 8) series, finishing 3-for-3 from the plate as she belted two doubles … accounted for her fourth hit of the slate at Carolina University (March 18) … closed 1-for-2 at Southern Virginia (April 12) … connected on a single in Salem’s game at Meredith (April 6) … accounted for one of Salem’s 10 hits in a 7-6 (8 innings) win over Methodist (April 26) in the season finale.

FIRST YEAR (2024): Ended her first season at Salem by playing in 23 games … came through with 12 hits in 45 at bats, positing a .267 batting average along the way … accounted for the fifth-most RBI (eight) on the team … scored five runs … responsible for four doubles, tying her with Madeline Brown for fifth-most on the unit … responsible for a .340 on-base percentage and a .400 slugging percentage … made her collegiate debut in the first game of the season against Carolina University (Feb. 17) as she finished 0-for-3 … had her first hit at St. Andrews (Feb. 22-Game 2), finishing 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs scored and a double as the Spirits earned the 14-9 win … posted two hits, along with a double and a triple, against Wesleyan (Ga.) (Feb. 25-Game 2) … continued her hot-hitting with a double at Guilford (Feb. 28-Game 1) … finished with a double and an RBI versus Averett (March 3-Game 2) … came through with singles against Covenant (March 12-Game 2) and Agnes Scott (March 13-Game 1) as the Spirits competed in Georgia … delivered a single at N.C. Wesleyan (March 30-Game 1) … posted her final hit of the season, which came in the second game of the series with William Peace (April 20).

PREP: Graduated from Parkwood High School in 2023 … a four-year letterwinner in softball with the Wolfpack under the direction of head coach Mary Hughes … recipient of the Pack Pride Award on two occasions (2021-22 / 2022-23) and was named Honorable Mention All-Conference (2022-23) … played four years of Club Softball for the Firecrackers, coached by Barbara Pedrick.

PERSONAL: Madison Long … daughter of Denise and Robbie Long … has two siblings, Jessica and James … graduated Cum Laude from Parkwood High School … member of Beta Club, Key Club and HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America).
