Biography
FIRST YEAR (2021-22): Played in 23 of the 24 games for the Spirits … forced the fifth-most steals (20) on the team … made her collegiate debut at Randolph (Nov. 10), closing with two points, two steals and a rebound … had the first of three double-digit scoring outings, coming through 11 at Emory & Henry (Nov. 17), converting 3-of-9 from the floor and 4-of-5 at the free throw line along the way … capped off a game at Warren Wilson (Nov. 20) with 11 points, hitting eight free throws in the process … ended November with three six-rebound outings, which came against Virginia Wesleyan (Nov. 13), Emory & Henry (Nov. 17) and N.C. Wesleyan (Nov. 23) … established her single-season high in points (14), by hitting 5-of-11 from the floor and a trio of free throws against N.C. Wesleyan (Nov. 23) … scored nine points and added three steals each in clashes with Mary Baldwin (Dec. 4) and Ferrum (Dec. 15) … reached double figure scoring for the final time in the season, against Methodist (Jan. 8), by hitting four field goals, including a pair of 3-pointers … had a pair of solid outings against Greensboro, scoring nine points on February 3rd and eight points three days later, while pulling down five rebounds in each contest … forced three steals in a clash with Averett (Feb. 10).
PREP: Graduated from Spring Hill Academic High School in 2020 … began her prep basketball career in 2014-15 by playing on the C-Team at Irmo High School under Catelyn Vaughn … followed by playing jayvee basketball for Courtney Bradley at Irmo … completed the final two years of her prep career at the varsity level playing under at Irmo under the direction of Monica Williams and Susan Vaughn … recipient of The Most Hustle award (2019) and Coaches Award (2020) during her career … reached the semifinals of the South Carolina High School Association basketball tournament in 2019-20, finishing with a 24-4 mark on the season … active on the club basketball circuit, playing for AAU Shooting Stars (2015) for Trina and Henry Wagstaff and from 2017-19 for Team South Carolina and head coach Eric Roper.
PERSONAL: Ky’Ana Thomas … daughter of Keishon Williams … born July 1, 2002 … has three siblings including Sa’Miia Thomas, Yashad Thomas and Ra’Mia Thomas.
