FIRST YEAR (2022-23): One of six players on the Salem roster to eclipse 100 points on the season, finishing with 158 points … knocked down 61-of-155 field goals (39.4%), including 13-of-45 from beyond the arc … an effective free throw shooter throughout the course of the season for Salem, finishing 23-of-37 (62.2%) at the charity stripe … came through with 56 rebounds (34 defensive) along with 18 steals for the Spirits defense … established her single-game season-high in points (23) in a clash with USA South Conference rival Methodist (Nov. 22) after hitting 9-of-12 from the floor and three 3-pointers … upon that performance, Griffin became the third different player in program history to receive the USA South Rookie of the Week honor from the league … followed that with a pair of nine-point outings against Southern Virginia (Nov. 29) and Brevard (Dec. 3) … wrapped up December with a 10-point performance against Ferrum (Dec. 30) … had a three-game stretch of double-digit scoring performances against Pfeiffer (Jan. 21 / 11 pts), Mary Baldwin (Jan. 25 / 20 pts) and Greensboro (Jan. 28 / 14 pts) … along the way, Griffin became the first player in Salem basketball history to earn USA South Rookie of the Week honors twice in the same season … exploded for 22 points in a 15-point victory over Meredith (Feb. 11) after knocking down 9-of-13 from the floor and 3-of-5 from beyond the arc.
