Biography
SENIOR (2019-20): Played nine games during the second half of the season, making three starts along the way … finished the season with 60 points, hitting 22-of-81 from the floor and 4-of-14 from beyond the arc … converted 12-of-17 free throw attempts … grabbed 34 rebounds (17 offensive) and had seven steals … made her season debut for Salem versus Hollins (Dec. 30), grabbing six rebounds (four offensive) while scoring five points … followed that up by making a start against Meredith (Jan. 4), closing with four points and two rebounds … returned to the starting lineup at Greensboro (Jan. 8), where she closed with 23 points and six rebounds (five defensive) after knocking down 8-of-16 from the floor and 4-of-7 from 3-point range … reached double figures in points (12) against Averett (Jan. 25) after converting 3-of-12 from the floor and finishing a perfect 6-of-6 at the free throw line … appeared in her final game of the season against Methodist, scoring four points and grabbing two rebounds in 24 minutes.
FIRST YEAR (2016-17): Played in 11 games over the course of the slate, finishing with 62 points, 25 rebounds and five assists along the way … made her collegiate debut against Agnes Scott (Jan. 14), finishing with 14 points after hitting 5-for-12 from the floor and 3-of-10 from beyond the arc … came off the bench to score five points in 18 minutes against Piedmont (Jan. 25) … put together her second double-digit scoring performance (11 points) against LaGrange (Feb. 4) as she knocked down 4-of-7 from the floor, 3-of-6 from the 3-point line … enjoyed her single-game season-high (16 points) after converting 5-of-6 field goals, 4-of-5 3-pointers and 2-of-3 free throws in a clash with Covenant (Feb. 7) … came through with a 10-point performance against Covenant (Feb. 11), hitting 3-of-4 from the floor, including a 3-pointer, while finishing 3-for-4 from the free throw line.
PREP: Graduated from East Rowan High School in 2016 … a three-sport athlete that competed in basketball (three years / Danielle Porter), track (two years / Rebecca Cooper) and soccer (one year) … also played one year of junior varsity basketball … named to the All-Tournament Team at the Sam Moir Christmas Tournament on two occasions (2014, 2015) … named as Field Event Athlete of the Year in 2015 from the track team … distinguished as an All-Country track performer in 2014 … earned All-Conference track honors at the conclusion of the 2014 season … honored as a Player of the Week in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association State Playoffs in 2015.
PERSONAL: Shenique Pharr … daughter of Kim Pharr and Derick Hinson … born on Oct. 19, 1997 … has a sister Shenell, who is also playing for the Spirits … played for the Carolina Reign Elite 16U basketball program under the direction of head coach Ursula Williams for two years.
