SENIOR (2019): Closed out the 2019 slate ranking among the top-five in goals (three—t-5th), assists (four—t-2nd), points (10—4th) and total shots (42—2nd) … she finished off the slate with 15 shots on goal … started all 19 matches for the Spirits over the course of the season … emerged with four shots in the season-opener against Bob Jones (Aug. 31) … converted one goal and made two shots at Covenant (Sept. 7) … closed out a 3-2 setback against Agnes Scott (Sept. 8) with three shots … had two shots and one assist in a 2-0 win over Emory & Henry (Sept. 19) … capped off a 1-1 tie with Ferrum with four shots and an assist … netted two goals in six shots as Salem downed Meredith (Oct. 1) in a USA South Conference clash … dished out one assist, while taking four shots, against Averett (Oct. 5) … closed with three shots in a 3-1 win at N.C. Wesleyan (Oct. 12) … ended a 2-1 win against William Peace (Oct. 15) with three shots and one assist … attempted four shots in a 2-1 decision over Piedmont International (Oct. 17) … came through with three shots on Senior Day against Mary Baldwin (Oct. 26) … made starts against both Piedmont (Nov. 2) and Maryville (Nov. 8) in the USA South Conference Tournament, coming through with one shot in each of those matches.
JUNIOR (2018): Did not play in any matches over the course of the season.
SOPHOMORE (2017): Played in all 17 matches, making 14 starts along the way … finished with two goals, one assist, resulting in five points as she attempted 12 shots (eight shots on goal) … scored her first goal of the season against Blackburn (Sept. 2) as Salem earned the 5-0 win … drove home one goal and added one assist in a 5-0 triumph over Agnes Scott (Sept. 8) … came through with a pair of shots against Eastern Mennonite (Sept. 10) … attempted at least one shot in five of her next nine matches … emerged with two shots in a 3-0 victory against Ferrum (Oct. 11).
FIRST YEAR (2016): Competed in and started all 19 matches over the course of the season … responsible for five goals, tying her for fourth-most on the unit, to go along with four assists as she totaled 14 points … attempted 35 shots, including 16 shots on goal (.457 shot on goal percentage) … earned the starting nod in the first seven matches of the season, including her collegiate debut against Ferrum (Sept. 1), where she came through with five shots and one assist … tallied her first goal at Eastern Mennonite (Sept. 6) … emerged with assists against both Guilford (Sept. 9) and Southern Virginia (Sept. 10) … assisted on a goal in a 10-0 against LaGrange (Oct. 1) … found the back of the net for the second time at Agnes Scott (Oct. 8) … recorded her third goal of the season in a 6-0 victory against Huntingdon (Oct. 16) … enjoyed the first multi-goal performance goal performance of her career, scoring two goals in a 2-0 downing of Maryville (Oct. 29).
PREP: Graduated from Lake Shore High School in 2015 … a four-year letter winner in soccer … served as team captain in 2014-15 … earned the Improvement Award following her junior season (2014) … named Second Team All-Conference as a junior … concluded her freshman season on the All-Freshman team … captured the conference championship in 2011 and 2014.
PERSONAL: Martha Mary Santos … daughter of Joanne and David Santos … born March 12, 1997 … has two siblings, James and John … member of National Honor Society and Key Club … graduated with honors and on Honor Roll … Louisiana HKRE Navy State Championship winner in 2014 … captured Louisiana State Championship for MSC in four straight seasons (7th grade-12th grade).
