-USA South All-Tournament Team (2024)

SOPHOMORE (2025 / BEACH VOLLEYBALL): Paired with McKenzie Tullock for all but two matches in the inaugural season, boasting one victory, which came as the No. 1 seed … also played a pair of matches with Leah Rymer as Salem’s No. 1 seed … played in 12 matches as Salem’s No. 1 seed, alongside Tullock … served as the No. 1 seed in Salem’s first-ever match in program history, which came against Spartanburg Methodist (Feb. 15), facing Hana Vucinic and Brantile Price, suffering a 21-13, 21-18 loss … followed that by taking on Mackenzie Fa'apouli / Kyra Klouzek  (St. Andrews), later that afternoon, suffering a 23-21, 21-14 setback … teamed with Tullock to post a three-set victory (28-26, 8-21, 15-12) over the tandem of Chloe Stein / Gabi Carter (Wake Tech CC) on March 6th … competed in a pair of matches against St. Andrews’ tandem of Kyra McKinney and Cayleigh Pellitier (April 8) alongside Leah Rymer … the pair, who were the No. 1 seeds for the Spirits, suffered setbacks of 22-20, 21-18  and 21-17, 21-16 in the clash … served as the No. 2 seed with Tullock for the final three matches of the season, which came at the Briggs Beach Bash hosted by Berry College, dropping a 15-21, 21-17, 15-6 decision to the tandem of Izzy Valldeperas and Ashen Janowski (Huntingdon), marking the only three-set loss with Tullock as her partner on the season … closed out the 2025 season with a 21-18, 21-18 setback to Alla Kehekina and Ella Kahikina (LaGrange) in the Briggs Beach Bash hosted by Berry College. 

SOPHOMORE (2024): Made an immediate impact on the Salem offense with the fourth-most kills (199) at a rate of 2.31 kills/set, posting a .207 attack percentage along the way … finished fourth in blocks (30), including 20 assisted blocks … made her Salem debut against Lynchburg (August 30) … contributed five digs and three kills at Averett (August 30) … slammed home seven kills in clashes with Methodist (September 17), resulting in a .412 attack percentage, and Greensboro (September 19) … wrapped up a doubleheader against Pfeiffer (September 20) with eight kills (.316 attack pct.) in the first match and seven in the second (.545 attack percentage) … drove home 10 kills in a five-set win at Brevard (September 24) … contributed 10 kills in a clash at Southern Virginia (October 2) … reached double-digit kills (10) for the third time on the season as she posted a .533 attack percentage in a three-set win over N.C. Wesleyan (October 12) … delivered 13 kills and a .323 attack percentage, adding five assisted blocks and two digs, as the Spirits took down Methodist (October 15) in four sets … delivered nine kills, three digs and two solo blocks in a three-set decision over Greensboro (October 17) … drove 11 kills (.455 attack percentage) and added two assisted blocks at N.C. Wesleyan (October 26) … established her single-match season-high in kills (15), contributing seven digs along the way, as Salem defeated Southern Virginia (October 30) … was solid in an outing at Meredith (November 6) with eight kills, four digs and three blocks (two solo) … closed out the final match of the regular season with nine kills and four digs against Roanoke (November 9) … began the a first round win in the USA South Conference Tournament against Brevard (November 12) with nine kills and four digs … contributed eight kills and one dig in the Semifinals of the USA South Conference Tournament as Salem downed William Peace (November 14) in straight sets … capped off the final match of the season with 13 kills and six digs in the USA South Conference Tournament Championship at Southern Virginia (November 16).

FRESHMAN (LAKELAND UNIVERSITY / 2023): Competed in two matches over the course of the season, playing in a total of two sets … made her collegiate debut in a clash with Martin Luther (Sept. 16), capping off the match with two service aces and one dig … played in one set in a clash with Rockford (Oct. 21), but did not record any statistics. 

PREP: Graduated from Gibraltar High School in 2023 … a three-sport athlete that competed in volleyball, soccer as well as track and field … a four-year member of the Vikings’ volleyball program, playing for head coach Woody Heidler … earned Offensive Player of the Year honors at Gibraltar following the 2022 campaign … named as the Most Valuable Player for the Vikings at the conclusion of the 2022 season … recognized as a Packerland First Team All-Conference performer as an outside hitter in 2022 … competed on the Club Volleyball circuit for three seasons … made her Club Volleyball debut for the Spiketown unit before joining the 1Wisconsin team the following season … rejoined the Spiketown program, earning Badger Region Power League All-Tournament honors under head coach Bob Kiekhefer. 

PERSONAL: Ellie Joe Scherer … daughter of Aleta and Brandon Elliott and Andrew Scherer  … born on April 28, 2005 … has three siblings: Max, Auden and Wren … a second-generation collegiate athlete, following in the footsteps of her mother, Aleta, who played volleyball … graduated Cum Laude from Gibraltar High School.
