Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College volleyball team lost in three sets to non-conference opponent Guilford College tonight in the Salem Gym. Guilford defeated the Spirits 25-18, 25-17, 25-16. Keri Nolan (Calabash, NC) and Cassie Durham (Dobson, NC) led the Spirits with six kills each. Salem falls to 3-8 with the loss.

Khadija Layne (Dorchester, MA) and Randi Roppolo (Weeki Wachee, FL) led the Spirits in digs. Layne finished with 13 digs and Roppolo finished with 7 digs. Sara Maher (Longmont, CO) finished with 13 set assists, and Chelsea Jones (Glade Valley, NC) finished with 10 assists. Maher also led the Spirits with 3 service aces. Christine Tillman (King, NC) and Aubrey Bradshaw (Valdese, NC) each had a block.

Salem returns to action tomorrow when they host Agnes Scott (11:00 am) and Spelman (3:00 pm) in their first Great South matches of the year.
