The second victory of the weekend came in four-set fashion over Roanoke (25-16, 22-25, 25-23, 25-23) after the Spirits suffered a setback to Guilford (25-18, 28-26, 21-25, 20-25).

Salem was led offensively by
Anna Rymer (12 kills), Bradley (11),
Isabella Mann (10) and
Maia Johnson (10). That quartet, along with
Ashlyn Wood, who dished out 21 assists, played an integral role in the Spirits posting 57 kills and a .281 attack percentage. Individually, Johnson (.471), Mann (.455) and Bradley (.435) all topped the .400 attack percentage plateau for Salem.
Wood was also active on defense with 17 digs, while
Ella Brameus added 13 of her own.
FIRST SET: Salem rebounded from an early 6-2 deficit to even the game at seven on an assisted block by Bradley and Johnson. Two ties and four points later, Guilford scored four unanswered points to forge in front 15-11 on a Johnson kill. Mann and Bradley added kills, while Johnson came through with an assisted block, but the Quakers maintained their advantage down the stretch for the seven-point win.
SECOND SET: Salem regrouped to open the second set as the score again reached seven-all. A service ace from Bun gave the Spirits a one-point lead, but the two teams would battle through six ties to reach a 15-15 deadlock. It was there that Guilford separated itself, 18-15, with three kills in a four-point stretch. Salem would knot the game at 21, the first of six ties before a 26-all deadlock. Guilford assumed the two-game lead with a slam from Maddi Page.
THIRD SET: Looking to avenge the sweep, Salem grabbed a 4-1 lead on an ace from Brameus in the third set. Guilford answered by scoring eight of the next 13 points, tying the contest at nine. But it was the Spirits who countered with a run of their own, highlighted by two kills from Brameus, assuming the 13-9 lead. Two kills each from
Anna Rymer and Bradley provided the Spirits with 20 points, but a late surge by Guilford knotted the game at 20.

FOURTH SET: Looking to close out its 21st win in the head-to-head series, Guilford streaked out to an 8-4 lead by virtue of a block from Marie Hall. The Spirits used kills from Brameus and Bradley to move to within two, 12-10, but Guilford responded with four unanswered to assume the 16-10 lead. Despite pulling within three points on six occasions, Guilford maintained its lead down the stretch to pick up its second win of the season.
