Volleyball Falls in First Conference Match in 2025

Salem Volleyball traveled to take on the conference leaders in Greensboro and lost 0-3.

The Spirits started out strong in set one, rattling off three straight to open the matchup. The Pride had an answer, securing four straight themselves. The score stayed within a few points until Greensboro was able to start pulling away midway through the set. Salem was never more than six points behind and were able to save two set points before the Pride was able to secure the first set win.

In set two, Salem secured the first point, but Greensboro held the lead for the remainder of the set. Much like in set one, the Spirits stayed close on the Pride's heels, but were never able to get over the hump. Aspen Bradley and Ella Brameus were both able to secure five kills, helping to keep the Spirits in it.

Salem started out hot in set three, winning six of the first eight points. Greensboro once again had an answer, to tie it up 6-6. It stayed close for a few more point, but the Pride took control after a four point run. The Spirits were not going down easy, however, rallying to save five straight set points. Greensboro was ultimately able to find their last point, and took home the straight sets win.

Tonight's stat leaders were Aspen Bradley with 14 kills and two blocks, Leah Rymer with 31 assists, and Madison Bozarth with 22 digs.

The Spirits are making up their match against Methodist tomorrow night at home, as they look to extend their impressive home winning streak.
