Game Recap: Volleyball |

Volleyball Wins Fourth Straight

Salem Volleyball secured another straight-set home win tonight against Pfeiffer, finishing with a 25-10, 25-22, 25-14.

The Spirits got out to a hot start, winning seven of the first nine points mostly served by Madison Bozarth. While the Falcons were able to get within three, the Spirits were ready to answer and held onto a strong lead. Once the score reached 15-10, Salem did not give up another point for the remainder of the set. This 10-point run was served, once again, by Bozarth, who secured three aces along with four kills from Ella Brameus

Pfeiffer started to find their stride in set two, securing a small lead early on. A kill from Ariana Noplos spurred Salem on to regain the lead, followed by three straight kills from Aspen Bradley. The Falcons found some offensive momentum again and gained what ended up being their final lead of the matchup. Salem bounced back quickly, capitalizing on a few errors from Pfeiffer. As the Spirits grew closer to set point, the Falcons were never far behind, coming as close as 23-22. After an injury to Leah Rymer, Taylor Cook stepped in to contribute to the final two points of the set.

Salem started out set three with strong offense, racking up kills from Noplos, Brameus, Bradley, and Bella Mann. Pfeiffer stayed within a few, until the Spirits won eight of nine points to secure an 18-10 lead. The Falcons were able to hang on and bring the score to 20-14, but Salem had a quick answer, rattling off five straight. Two aces from Bradley and kills from Mann and Noplos sealed the deal, with Grace Royer stepping in to deliver assists to finish another dominant set.

Bradley once again led in kills with 13, Brameus close behind with 12. Madison Bozarth racked up a whopping five aces, which is her game high in a Salem uniform. Despite the injury, Leah Rymer still led in assists with 21. Olivia Torres led in digs tonight with 18.

The Spirits will next be in action on Saturday October 18th, where they host a tri-match with Mary Baldwin and Meredith.
