Salem Athletics is excited to announce the hire of the new Director of Sports Information, Marketing, and Communications; Caitlyn Hemric. 

Hemric is a graduate of the University of Northwestern - St. Paul, where she received degrees in Sport Management and Media Production. She was highly involved in the UNW Athletic Department, providing her with a wide range of experience that prepared her well for a full time position in collegiate athletics. She served as a Sports Information Assistant for four years, focusing primarily on producing and directing live-stream broadcasts. On top of her game day duties, Hemric worked with rosters, schedules, all-time records, and asset management. Most notably, Hemric was the primary broadcaster for the 2022 NCAA Regional Volleyball Tournament, including the Regional Championship. 

As well as her position in Sports Information, Hemric played for the UNW Tennis Team. her senior year, she earned First Team All-Conference honors and led the team in overall wins. Her years playing a DIII sport grew her love for the community and atmosphere, while cultivating an understanding for the hustle and heart that goes into being a collegiate athlete. 

Outside of the Athletic Department, Hemric was a Senior Content Creator and Marketing Intern for Northwestern Marketing, the Social Media Director for the campus Student Events group, and the Executive Staff for the Journalism and Video Workshop. These positions were key in growing her media and marketing skills, providing the opportunity to build a brand and produce a wide range of content. 

What Hemric cites as her most interesting experience in the sports world was her season as a Guest and Premium Experience Intern for the Minnesota Vikings. She spent the 2024-25 season creating memorable experiences for fans at Training Camp and on game days at the Suite Level. 

At Salem, Hemric will be a main point of contact in the Athletic Department, while running game days, working with the website, and assisting with marketing initiatives. 

"I am so excited to step into this role," says Hemric. "I have fallen in love with Division III athletics over the last few years and can't wait to serve the athletic department while building strong relationships with coaches and athletes."
