After a 0-9 conference record, Salem Soccer has been given the 10th slot in the USA South Preseason Poll.
Looking ahead at the 2025 season, the Spirits only lost two of their starters, while bringing in five newcomers. One of their most notable returners is Senior Darilyn Nieto, who has been a powerhouse forward for the Spirits. Nieto scored 18 goals in her 2024 campaign, tacking on a 57% Shot on Goal percentage. Already holding a number of offensive records, Nieto is on track to break even more this season.
A few more notable returners are Sophomore Defender Hallie Kramer and Sophomore Midfielder Alexia Valente-Arreola, who both started all 15 games last season. Kramer also had two assists, while Valente-Arreola racked up five goals. Another key player in the Spirits midfield is Junior Giselle Ramos who started 13 games, also providing three goals and three assists.
The Spirits are ready to bounce back, build upon last season, and make waves in the USA South Conference in their 2025 campaign.
