He coordinated internal and external events, supervised operational staff and student workers, managed athletic construction projects, and helped generate 2 million dollars of revenue through facility rentals and partnerships. His commitment to organization, efficiency, and customer service helped create a positive environment for student-athletes and campus stakeholders alike.
In addition to his administrative experience, James brings a strong coaching background. He previously served as the
Head Women's Basketball Coach at Medgar Evers College, where he was responsible for recruiting, player development, budgeting, strength and conditioning programming. Prior to that, he served as an assistant men's basketball coach, helping student-athletes develop both on and off the court.
James also spent nearly three decades working within the legal profession, developing exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills while serving in leadership roles with prominent law firms throughout New York City. His experience managing complex schedules, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and maintaining operational efficiency will further strengthen the Salem Athletics Department.

"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."
That mindset reflects the culture Salem Athletics continues to build as the department experiences significant growth in student-athlete enrollment, competitive success, and campus engagement.
As Associate Athletic Director, James will play an integral role in advancing the department's strategic goals while enhancing the overall student-athlete experience. His leadership will be instrumental in strengthening game day operations, expanding community partnerships, growing camps and clinics, supporting student-athletes, coaches, and ensuring Salem Athletics continues to develop a championship-level experience for all student-athletes.
