Salem Volleyball finished up their campaign at the Great Lakes Crossover with another 1-1 finish, first, falling to Heidelberg 1-3, then bouncing back to defeat SUNY Brockport 3-1. 

The Spirits were up early to take on the tough matchup ahead of them. Heidelberg started out hot, racking up blocks and aces to take the first two sets 16-25 and 17-25. Salem, not going down without a fight, bounced back to force a third set battle. They secured a game high 14 kills on their way to a 25-23 set three win. Ultimately, Heidelberg put up a dominant fourth set performance and took the set 7-25.

Salem, determined to end the weekend on a high note, came into game two against SUNY Brockport firing on all cylinders. Their high attack percentage, 11 kills and only one error carried them to a 25-17 win. Set two was a battle, the closest of the contest, with Salem ultimately prevailing 25-23. The Eagles gained a bit of momentum in set three, forcing the set to go the distance, concluding with a 25-17 win in favor of Brockport. Going into set four, the Spirits were on point, securing the win with one of their best sets of the weekend. Their 16 kills, 0 errors, and 25-17 result put an exclamation point on a great weekend of competitive volleyball.

Salem's stat leaders from yesterday continued to shine on day two. Madison Bozarth had 29 digs, Leah Rymer put up 64 assists, and Aspen Bradley 's 24 kills were coupled with 7 blocks. 

The Spirits will next be in action September 5th-6th, where they travel to Virginia for the Roanoke College Tournament to play another four contests.
