Basketball loses at home against Agnes Scott

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College basketball team lost a Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC) game at home against Agnes Scott College, 66-60. Shamaz Denerson (Atlanta, GA) led Salem with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Salem drops to 5-9 overall and 4-5 in the GSAC, and Agnes Scott improves to 6-9 overall.

The game went back and forth throughout the first half, with the Spirits holding a 31-30 halftime edge. Agnes Scott would go ahead early in the second half and hold the lead for the remainder of the game.

Amber Miller (Mebane, NC) scored 14 points and had 2 blocks. Kelsey Rector (State Road, NC) finished with 9 points and 6 assists. She is now just 1 point away from becoming the first Spirit basketball player with 1,000 career points. Kimberly Reeves led Agnes Scott with 20 points.

Salem returns to action on January 27th when they travel to nearby Piedmont Baptist College at 7:00 pm.
