Lookout Mountain, GA-The Salem College softball team dominated Covenant on the road in two games of Great South action. Kristi Morton (Trussville, AL) and Lexi Perez (Mount Ulla, NC) were both red-hot from the plate. The Spirits improve their GSAC record to 4-4 and 7-17 overall, while Covenant falls to 1-7 and 2-22.

Morton went 4 for 4 in game one with 2 runs, and she was 7 for 9 overall. Perez went 4 for 4 in game two with 2 runs batted in, and she was 6 for 8 overall. Kierston Garner (Danbury, NC) led the Spirits with 5 runs batted in including her 5th home-run of the season.

Allie Watkins (Locust, NC) earned both wins on the mound for the Spirits. She only allowed 12 hits in 14 innings.

The Spirits hit the road next weekend to take on Agnes Scott and Wesleyan in conference play.
