Softball earns sweep over GSAC rival

Macon, GA-The Salem College softball team picked up two important road wins today in Great South action at Wesleyan College. The Spirits won the first game (4-3) and the second game (10-4). Jennifer Vitarelli, Montana Lineberger, and Kierston Garner all had four hits for the day. Salem improves to 2-0 in the GSAC and 18-12 overall with the wins. 

Brianna Morris earned the win in the first game as she only allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in 7 innings. Lauryn Smith won game 2 while allowing 4 runs on 6 hits in 4.2 innings. Hannah Nolan pitched 2.1 innings in game 2 and gave up no runs and 2 hits.

Britani Peterson, Maggie Fritts, and Lineberger all hit triples today. Vitarelli and Lineberger each hit doubles. Garner led the team with 3 runs batted in.

The Spirits will play another important doubleheader tomorrow at Agnes Scott.
