Salem Soccer traveled to take on Pfeiffer and secured a late game goal to tie 3-3.
Â
Salem started out with an offensive focus, putting up three shots in the first 20 minutes, all from different players. The Spirits racked up a few offsides calls as well, coming from their numerous offensive pushes. Despite Salem's early opportunities, Pfeiffer was able to find the back of the net in the 21st minute.Â
Â
The Spirits were ready with a quick answer, creating a corner kick opportunity 30 seconds later that ultimately led to a goal from the foot of Giselle Ramos. This was the defender's 3rd goal of the season and is currently second on the team for goals scored.Â
Â
The next 20 minutes brought a number of substitutions for Salem as well as strong offense for the Falcons, and ultimately a goal in the 41st minute. Once again, the Spirits had an answer, this time from Forward Darilyn Nieto who tied it up a mere 45 seconds later.Â
Â
Half two brought early momentum for both squads, trading offensive spurts throughout the first 28 minutes of the half. Things started to get chippy in the 74th minute, with Pfeiffer being awarded a yellow card. Five minutes later, the Falcons scored their third goal of the matchup. This goal was followed by a yellow card given to Nieto.
Â
The Spirits were not ready to give up, putting up another strong offensive push and preventing the Falcons from securing any Grade A chances. After a beautiful through ball from the Spirit's back line, Darilyn Nieto was ready for one last opportunity. In the 88th minute, Nieto beat her defender and snuck the ball right under the goalkeeper's arm, securing the brace Salem needed to tie.
Â
This result brings the Spirit's record to 3-4-4 overall and 0-2-2 in the USA South.Â

The Spirits will next be in action this Saturday where they take on NC Wesleyan at 4pm.Â
