WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Salem Academy & College Director of Athletics
Michael Williams announced a sponsorship deal with Greater Winston-Salem Inc., which will allow the Department of Athletics to grow and develop its brand throughout the City of Winston-Salem, Forsyth County and the Triad for the coming years.
Greater Winston-Salem Inc. works to develop a vibrant, thriving community that's good for business growth and sustainability. With focus areas in economic development, talent recruitment and retention, career-readiness, and advocacy, its initiatives are designed to help business and community grow.
"Partnering with Greater Winston-Salem, Inc. is crucial in strengthening our ties with the community," said Williams. "This collaboration allows Salem Academy & College to engage with local businesses and organizations at a higher level, ultimately elevating our athletics department for long-term success. We believe in giving back and being an active part of the community—because true partnerships are built on mutual support and shared growth."
Growing the economic prosperity of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County has been a part of the business model for Greater Winston-Salem Inc., for more than 135 years. Greater Winston-Salem Inc. was built on the legacy of the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce and Winston-Salem Business, Inc.
The sponsorship will play a key role in helping Salem Academy & College further grow its athletic brand and footprint throughout the Triad and North Carolina.
It is the third major announcement in a calendar year for Salem College centered around growing the overall brand. In February 2025, Salem College and Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) announced a new partnership that created a direct pathway for Salem College students to enroll in WSSU's Division of Nursing Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program.
This collaboration expands access to nursing education, streamlines the transition for aspiring nurses, and strengthens the healthcare workforce in North Carolina, in the nation, and around the globe.
In March 2024, the presidents of Salem College and Forsyth Technical Community College (Forsyth Tech) signed a historic co-admissions and scholarship agreement giving Forsyth Tech students an opportunity to combine degrees at both institutions while receiving scholarships.
The Salem-Forsyth Tech Advantage is one of the most advantageous partnerships in the nation for students. The agreement is a guarantee to students, that after scholarships, their tuition will not exceed more than $3,000 per year at Salem College.
