Salem Soccer adds a notch to column number three in their contest against Averett, ending with a score of 3-3.
This high scoring game got off to a hot start in the scoring category, with four goals coming in the first 30 minutes. Averett racked up the first two in the 8th and 12th minutes, with Darilyn Nieto coming up with a much needed answer in the 22nd minute. Six minutes later, Olivia Slayton scored her first career goal, evening the score to 2-2.
Averett echoed some of their early success in the first half, finding the back of the net four minutes into the second half, giving them the lead. After solid defensive efforts on both sides, Salem's final goal came off of a penalty kick from the foot of Giselle Ramos, scoring her first goal of the season.
One of the most notable statistics from tonight's contest was Salem's shot on goal percentage, racking up a whopping 100%. On the other side of the ball, Michaela Iapaluccio accumulated 6 saves.
