Salem Volleyball opened up their conference season with a bang, taking down Pfeiffer in straight sets. The Spirits have now won eight straight games.
Â
Set one was an offensive battle, with Salem racking up 16 kills and Pfeiffer 17. The Spirits got out to an early 7-1 lead, starting with three kills from Aspen Bradley, immediately followed by 3 aces from Ella Brameus. Pfeiffer was able to crawl back, bringing the score up to 14-13 in their favor. Capitalizing on some attack errors and securing some kills of their own, the Spirits were able to secure a set point. Pfeiffer was not going down easy, saving three set points before Ariana Noplos slammed a kill to win the set.
Â
Set two began with a bit of a back and forth, both teams trading kills. After a few solid serving runs, Salem was able to pull away, with their biggest margin being 24-13. Spreading the attack attempts around ensured five different Spirits added to their 13 kills in set two. Leah Rymer even tacked on a few kills of her own, along with her eight assists.Â
Â
Set three was Salem's most dominant, racking up 19 kills on their way to a 25-13 score. Midway through the set, the Spirits went on a nine-point run, with Bradley serving eight of them. Ellie Scherer and Sadie Rich provided five of those points with their kills. Pfeiffer found a bit of momentum near the end of the set, but the Rymer-Bradley connection finished it off with back-to-back kills to complete the contest.Â

The Spirits look to continue their impressive home win streak on Thursday September 18th at 6pm where they take on Warren Wilson.
