Greensboro, NC-The Salem College tennis team defeated Greensboro College 6-3 in their first match of the season. The Spirits won 4 of the 6 singles matches and 2 of 3 doubles matches. Salem improves to 1-0, while Greensboro drops to 0-4.
Charlotte Neisler and Angela Reavis each won both of their matches for the Spirits. Reavis won the number 3 singles match (6-1, 6-3), and teamed with Kim Wisen to win the number 2 doubles match (8-2). Neisler won the number four singles match (6-2, 6-1) and teamed with Cierra Young to win the number three doubles match (9-7). Summer Whitener won the number two singles (6-1, 6-2), and Amy Allison won the number 6 singles (6-2, 6-0).
Salem returns to action on Saturday when they travel back to Greensboro to take on Guilford College.
