Lancaster, SC-The Salem College tennis team lost their first match of the season on the road to the University of South Carolina Lancaster 9-0. Kerri Morgan (Walnut Cove, NC) played both number 1 singles and doubles for the Spirits in the loss. Salem falls to 0-1 on the season.

Morgan played a strong second set in the number one singles match, but she eventually lost the match (1-6, 5-7). The closest match of the game happened at the number two doubles spot. Amy Allison (Geneva, OH) and Cierra Young (Pooler, GA) fell in a close 6-8 match.

Salem returns to action on Saturday at Columbia College at 10:30.
