Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer team defeated a very good Maryville team for a third time this season in their most important match to date. Salem earned a 2-0 victory off of the back of two goals by Martha Santos to move to the USA South semifinals at Meredith this weekend. Salem improves to 17-1-1 overall, while Maryville finishes their season at 10-8-1. 

Santos scored her first goal in the 31st minute on an assist by Alyssa Denkovich. She scored for the second time in the 69th minute on a pass by Maddie Crumpton. Salem held a 12-7 shot advantage, and each team had 1 corner kick.

The Spirits will play Methodist in the semifinals on November 4th at 3:00 in Raleigh.
