Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College tennis team lost to cross-town rival Winston-Salem State University 7-2. The Spirits won one singles match and one double match. Salem is now 1-2 overall for the year.

Lauren Holman and Carmen Wilkins teamed to win 8-5 at #3 doubles. The Spirits were down 2-1 after doubles play. The #1 doubles pairing of Makenna Mason and Abby Williams fell just short with an 8-6 score. Grace Wilson picked up the Spirits only win at #5 singles as she defeated Cylah Gaither 6-1, 6-0. 

The Spirits will take on Wesleyan (GA) twice next week at home.
