Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College tennis team split two games this weekend. They beat Ferrum 5-4 in USA South action and lost 6-3 on the road against Bluefield in non-conference action. The Spirits are now 5-4 overall and 2-0 in the USA South.

Against Bluefield, Lindsay Young and Carmen Wilkins won at #3 doubles by default. Alyssa Cosentino won by default at #5 singles and Eunice Funez won by default at #6 singles.

In the Ferrum match, Salem fell behind 2-1 after doubles. Lauren Holman and Wilkins beat the Panthers at #3 doubles 8-2. Abigail Williams and Lauren Holman won at #2 and #3 singles. Grace Wilson won at #5 singles and Wilkins won at #6 to give Salem the conference win.

Salem will host William Peace tomorrow at 11:00.
