Salem Cross Country closed out their first season since 2019 competing in the USA South Conference Championship meet.
The Spirits had three runners compete, with two crossing the finish line. Trianna Smallwood was once again the first finisher for Salem, crossing the finish line at 29:50 in 35th place. Second across the line for the Spirits was Ashlynn Owens, finishing at 32:15 in 43rd place. Sophie Miller started, but was unable to finish.
With a solid first season at the helm, Coach Newsome is looking forward to building off of this season and continue coaching the Spirits to success.
Salem will be graduating one athlete, Triana Smallwood. This was Smallwood's first cross country season and finished first for the Spirits in multiple meets this season, while consistently putting up Personal Bests. Salem Athletics wishes Triana the best of luck in the future!
