Salem Cross Country is poised to begin their first season back in NCAA competition since 2019, where they are travelling to the Pfeiffer Invitational. 

The Spirits are coached by Nathan Newsome, who coached for West Forsyth High School for 25 years. In his time as a high school coach, he had one State Title, was State Runner-Up four times, and won Coach of the Year nine times. Last spring, he was inducted into the Winston-Salem Sports Hall of Fame. 

Coach Newsome had been recruiting since last spring and is excited to get his squad out to their first meet of the season.
