Salem Tennis hosted Hollins in a Spring Break tilt, playing well across the board and securing a 7-0 win.
The Spirits got off to a hot start in doubles, only dropping one game between the three teams. Adley Keim and Kimberly Ortiz Mendoza took care of business quickly at No. 3, winning 6-0. Daisy Ortiz Mendoza and Puja Lamsal wrapped up soon after, taking home a 6-1 win at No. 2 and clinching the doubles point. The No. 1 team of Charlize Green and LaKasia Williams put the cherry on top with another 6-0 final score.
Keim kept her foot on the gas, playing a dominant match and putting up a double bagel at No. 1 singles. Williams at No. 3 wasn't far behind, securing another 6-0, 6-0 win. Daisy Ortiz Mendoza clinched the match at No. 6, winning 6-1, 6-0. Green finished next, also only dropping one game at No. 2 on her way to a 6-0, 6-1 win.
Hollins didn't make things easy at No. 4 and No. 5. Yuridia Santana Dominguez played a tight first set at No. 5, but found her rhythm in the second, securing the win with a 6-4, 6-1 final score. Kimberly Ortiz Mendoza took her opponent the distance, winning both sets 7-5, 7-5 at No. 4.
The Spirits will next be in action on Tuesday March 24th where they host Johnson & Wales at 2pm.
