Sawyer Ferguson wrapped up a four-year career at Salem College by appearing in 62 matches and making 52 starts. Between the 2011-14 seasons, Ferguson tallied a program-record 46 goals while dishing out 16 assists to close with 108 points. She tallied 108 shots on goal, delivering 15 game-winning goals for her team. During Ferguson’s four-year stretch, the Spirits reached two NCAA Tournaments (2013-14) and were dominant on the pitch with a 60-17-5 overall record and a 23-3-1 mark in the Great South Athletic Conference. In Ferguson’s four-year stretch at Salem, the Spirits dropped five home matches at Varsity Field.  
 
Entering the 2024 campaign, Ferguson led the program in career goals scored (46), career points (108), game-winning goals (15), ranked fifth in career shots on goal (108), sixth in career shot percentage (.269), and ranked seventh in both career shots (171) and career assists (16) in program history. In a season, Ferguson sits atop the program marks in goals scored (19, 2012), points (45, 2012), and game-winning goals (9, 2012) and is among the Top 15 in 12 other significant statistics. 
 
Ferguson overcame a broken tibula in her first year at Salem to notch nine multi-goal matches. She tallied her first hat trick in 2012 and followed one in 2013 and two in 2014. Ferguson was named Great South All-Academic (2012, 2013, 2014), All-Conference (2012, 2013, 2014), and Player of the Week (4x), along with being named All-South Region for National Soccer Coaches Association of America (2013). 2014 Ferguson was named North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association All-State First Team. 
 
Ferguson graduated from Salem with a Chemistry degree and then from the University of Minnesota with a dentistry degree.
