MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Salem softball rebounded from an 8-0 setback in game one to score four runs over six innings in a 12-4 setback in game two in a clash with USA South Conference foe and 24th-ranked Pfeiffer when the two teams met at Jack Ingram Field on Friday afternoon.
The Falcons took advantage of pitching performances from Emma Bullin (11-4), Peyton Lane and Reese Caranna as the combined for a no-hitter of Salem in game one of the series. While the trio held the Spirits' bats silent, the combination of Landry Stewart (3-3, RBI), Alyssa Broaddus (2-2) and Natalie Auman (2 RBI, run) provided the punch for the Pfeiffer offense.
Salem responded by scoring four runs on five hits in game two, led by Kiersten Nelson's two hits. Nelson accounted for an RBI and a triple, while teammate Oliva Porter closed 1-for-2 at the plate with two RBI and a run scored. Reese Upton and Jelene Avila also had one hit each for the Spirits.

PFEIFFER HIGHLIGHTS
-Pfeiffer finished with nine hits, including three off the bat of Landry Stewart. Stewart was 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs and an RBI from the leadoff spot.
-Alyssa Broaddus was also instrumental in the Pfeiffer offense with two hits and a run scored. Teammate Natalie Auman added two RBI for the Falcons.
-Pfeiffer scored its first run in the bottom of the first inning when Stewart crossed the plate on a wild pitch.
-The Falcons put seven runners across in the third inning, including a grounder to third by Gracie Griffin that brought home Stewart for the 2-0 lead.
-After stretching the lead to 4-0, following singles by Emma Bullin and Gretchen Wolpert, the Falcons tallied three runs on a throwing error that allowed Ky Perdue, Charly Cooper and Camryn Kaminski to extend the lead to 7-0.
-Stewart drove a single into left field in the third inning, bringing home Auman for Pfeiffer's eighth run of the game.

SALEM HIGHLIGHTS
-Olivia Porter manufactured the first Salem run of the afternoon in the fourth inning after drawing a walk to lead off the frame.
-After advancing to third base on a wild pitch, Kiersten Nelson scored Porter from third on a fielder's choice for the first Salem run of the afternoon.
-Both Carmen Duffey and Riley Dennis finished with two strikeouts a piece for the Spirits in the circle.
-Jelene Avila sent a single into right field for the Spirits in the fifth, moving Cree Bass to third after the graduate senior hitter drew a walk to open the inning.
-After Kayla Dick walked to load the bases for Salem, Porter delivered a single to right that scored Bass and Avila in succession to slice the Pfeiffer lead to 8-3.
-Facing an 8-3 deficit, Nelson opened the sixth with a triple down the right field line before being pinch run for by Alli Stertzbach. Stertzbach scored two batters later on a single to left by Reese Upton, allowing Salem to cut the deficit to 8-4.
PFEIFFER HIGHLIGHTS
-The Falcons scored six runs on six hits in the first inning as they quickly established a 6-0 lead. Emma Chopko drove a double into center field, scoring Landry Stewart for the first Pfeiffer run of the game.
-Two batters later Alyssa Broaddus also connected on a double, which scored the tandem of Gracie Griffin and Chopko, giving Pfeiffer a 3-0 advantage.
-With two on base, Natalie Auman lifted a double to right centerfield, scoring Bullin and Broaddus as Pfeiffer's lead grew to 5-0 in the first.
-The sixth and final run of the first came when Chopko drew a bases loaded walk, scoring Charly Cooper from third.
-Gracie Griffin roped a single into left field in the third inning, scoring Stewart and Skylar Price as a result, as Pfeiffer assumed the 8-0 lead.
-Griffin and Broadus had back-to-back doubles to lead off the sixth before scoring on a double to right centerfield by Cooper, which resulted in a 10-4 Pfeiffer lead.
-Ky Perdue enjoyed the fourth hit of the frame for the Falcons, scoring Cooper for the 11th run. Perdue trotted home two batters later on a fielder's choice from Price, which gave Pfeiffer the 12-4 lead.
