RALEIGH, N.C. – Salem received extra-base hits from both Maleah Tate and Emma Greeson, who registered a triple and a double, respectively, but it was a one-hit performance by Kimberly Bordeaux and three hits from teammate Taylor Byrd that helped William Peace earn a doubleheader sweep by scores of 6-3 and 8-0 when the two met in a USA South Conference softball clash. 

Tate's triple resulted in two RBI in the first game for the Spirits, while Greeson, who tallied three hits total on the day, connected on the lone hit of the second game, which resulted in a double in the third inning.

SALEM HIGHLIGHTS
-The Spirits tallied eight hits in the game, including three from the top-third of the batting order, which consisted of Maleah Tate, Kayla Dick and Olivia Porter
-The trio of Carmey Duffey, Emma Greeson and Jelene Avila, which made up the bottom-third of the Salem lineup, managed four hits. 
-Salem retaliated in the fifth as Kiersten Nelson doubled to centerfield and was pinch run for by Lauryn Fisher. Duffey followed with a double to left, scoring Fisher, for the first Salem run of the game. 
-Greeson singled up the middle, moving Duffey to third, as Salem came through with its third straight hit. Two batters later, with Greeson at second, Maleah Tate dropped a triple to left to score the pair of Duffey and Greeson for a 5-3 William Peace lead. 
-As the Spirits attempted to rally in the seventh, Greeson reached base on a single up the middle. Tate reached base on a throwing error, moving Greeson to second. 
-Kayla Dick followed with a single to right field, loading the bases for the Spirits, before a liner to short stop halted the rally. 

WILLIAM PEACE HIGHLIGHTS
-Taylor Byrd led the hit parade for the Pacers, finishing 3-for-3 from the plate with one RBI and a run scored. Teammate Marissa Fuller finished the game with a 2-for-3 outing, resulting in an RBI. 
-Five Pacer sluggers had at least one hit in the game. 
-Isabelle Olson put the Pacers on the scoreboard in the second, highlighting the frame with two-run blast to left field that scored Reagan Stewart. 
-Adanya Day connected on a two-run home run in the third, stretching the William Peace lead to 4-0 as she plated Megan McAnany in the process. 
-Byrd added a single in the third, allowing Taryn Shelton to score from second, as the lead grew to 5-0. 
-The Pacers added an insurance run in the fifth after Byrd doubled down the right field line to put the first runner on base. Two batters later, Fuller delivered a single to right, scoring Byrd for the 6-3 advantage.

SALEM HIGHLIGHTS
-Emma Greeson notched the only hit for the Spirits, a double, which came in the top of the third. 
-Salem reliever Isabella Morales tossed 1.2 innings, allowing five hits and two runs, while striking out three William Peace sluggers. 
-The trio of Carmen Duffey, Morales and Griffin Pearce entered the pitching circle for the Spirits. 

WILLIAM PEACE HIGHLIGHTS
-William Peace closed out the second game of the day with 11 hits, including two each from Cierra Lear, Reagan Stewart and Taryn Shelton. 
-Kimberly Bordeaux tossed five innings, surrendered one hit and struck out seven Salem hitters over the course of five innings. 
-The Pacers scored three runs in the first inning, including the first of the game which came on an RBI grounder by Isabelle Olson. 
-Taylor Byrd drove a double to left, scoring Stewart and Adayna Day, as the Pacers established a 3-0 lead. 
-William Peace put four runs across in the second, including two by Taryn Shelson and Marissa Fuller, who scored on a double by Megan McAnany. 
-Day connected on a two-run home run to left, stretching the lead to 7-0 for the Pacers. 
-Day tacked on the eighth run for William Peace in the third, scoring Shelton on a single to left.
