WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – NeVaeha George highlighted the Salem offense in a doubleheader clash with Triad rival Greensboro when the two teams met on the diamond at Blixt Field on Saturday afternoon. George, who finished 3-for-6 from the plate on the day, accounted for both RBI in the opening game, but Greensboro came away with the 11-2 win in game one and followed with a 17-3 win in game two. 

With the bases loaded in the fifth inning of game one, George roped a single to right field, scoring both Maleah Tate and Kat Price on the play, as Salem scored its first two runs of the game. Meanwhile, in game two, first year Kayla Dick delivered a single to left, scoring both Alli Stertzbach and Kat Price on the play, as Salem sliced the lead to 9-3 in the fourth.

SALEM HIGHLIGHTS
-NeVaeha George led off the second inning for the Spirits with a single to centerfield. 
-Jelene Avila drew a walk for Salem in the third before reaching third on a single to left by Kayla Dick, which came by virtue of the second hit in the game. 
-With the bases loaded in the fifth, George roped a single to right field, scoring both Maleah Tate and Kat Price on the play, as Salem scored its first two runs of the game. 

GREENSBORO HIGHLIGHTS
-Ivy Ray became the first player to reach base for The Pride, which came on a throwing error, moving to third on a passed ball and a stolen base. With Raven Taylor at first and Ray at third, Greensboro scored its first run on a delayed steal, as Ray crossed the plate for the 1-0 lead. 
-Anna Frazier reached base on a single to right centerfield, scoring Taylor from third, as The Pride assumed a 2-0 advantage. 
-Greensboro started off the third inning with a double to shallow left by Jillian Vitamanti. The Pride added back-to-back walks, loading the bases for Jordyn Tong, who worked the count in her favor to earn the walk as the lead grew to 3-0. 
-Sophie Conger kept the Greensboro third alive with a single to centerfield, plating Anna Frazier and Ella Ebert as The Pride extended their lead to 5-0.
-Greensboro notched its sixth run of the game on a fielding error that scored Vitamanti with Ray at the plate. Ray came home on a fielding error that put Raven Taylor on the base pads. 
-Frazier sent a double to left field, scoring Taylor, as the Greensboro lead grew to 8-0. Teammate Ella Ebert brought Frazier home on a single to left, extending the margin to 9-0 in the fourth. Both Tong and Conger added hits for The Pride, before Olivia Hyatt roped a single to right centerfield as Greensboro reached double figures in runs, 10-0. 
-After three straight walks, which loaded the bases in the fifth, Ray crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly to left by Ebert.

SALEM HIGHLIGHTS
-NaVeaha George came through with the first hit of the game for the Spirits, reaching on a single to right field. Reese Upton replace George as a pinch runner, moving to second after Jelene Avila was hit by a pitch. The Spirits loaded the bases, but were unable to capitalize on opportunity. 
-Isabella Morales went two innings before giving way in the circle to Emma Greeson. Morales faced 14 Greensboro sluggers, allowing five runs on four hits, including three earned runs while fanning two. 
-Salem took advantage of three walks in the fourth inning when Maleah Tate reached on a single to left that brought home Mackenzie Kramer. 
-Kayla Dick followed with a single to left, scoring both Alli Stertzbach and Kat Price on the play, as Salem sliced the lead to 9-3 in the fourth. 

GREENSBORO HIGHLIGHTS
-Greensboro broke a scoreless tie in the top of the second by scoring four runs on two hits. After a leadoff strikeout, Ella Ebert delivered the second hit of the day with a single to left. Jordyn Tong followed with a two-run home run over the left field wall. 
-The Pride kept the inning alive with back-to-back walks by Sydney Harris and Olivia Hyatt before Jillian Vitamanti reached on an infield error which loaded the base pads. Harris would score on an error with Ivy Ray at the plate, resulting in the 3-0 Pride lead.
-Raven Taylor drew a bases loaded walk, scoring Hyatt from third for the fourth Greensboro run of the game. 
-Ebert connected on a home run of her own to leadoff the third, sending a 1-2 pitch over the centerfield wall for the 5-0 Greensboro lead. 
-After a series of errors in the Salem infield, Greensboro put two runners on base in the form of Vitamanti and Ray, before a three-run home run to left centerfield wall for the 8-0 Pride lead.
-Ebert helped her own cause with a single to right, scoring on a sacrifice fly to right by Katherine Connell.  
-Greensboro got a run back in the top of the fifth after Harris led off the inning with a double to right field. After a series of sacrifice bunts, Harris crossed the plate for the 10-3 lead. 
-The Pride scored their 11th run of the game when Alexis Lynch lead off the seventh with a double. Olivia Hyatt followed with a double of her own, plating Lynch. Two batters later, Ray scored Hyatt from third on a grounder to short stop. 
-Greensboro picked up its 13th run in the seventh following a bases loaded walk with Ebert at the plate, scoring Vitamanti from third. 
-The Pride scored two runs on a single to centerfield by Tong, stretching the margin to 12 runs. Greensboro wrapped up the seventh by scoring seven runs, taking a 17-3 lead into the bottom of the frame.
