WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Sophomore Carmen Duffey tallied three doubles, while NeVaeha George and Mackenzie Kramer added one each, in a doubleheader clash with Agnes Scott at Blixt Field on Friday evening. Duffey and George combined for the five RBI for Salem, which suffered setbacks of 6-2 (Game 1) and 17-3 (6 innings / Game 2) to the Scotties in non-conference action. 

Duffey tallied two of her three doubles in the first game of the doubleheader, closing with two RBI, while George highlighted the offense in the second game with three RBI and a double of her own.

SALEM HIGHLIGHTS
-Carmen Duffey collected the first Salem hit of the game in the second inning with a double off the left field walk. 
-Duffey added her second double of the game in the home half of the fourth, bringing home both Taela Belcher and NeVaeha George. Belcher reached on a walk and moved to second on a base hit up the middle by George before Duffey's single scored the pair. 
-Salem took advantage of a timely double play in the top of the seventh, as Duffey, George and Kiersten Nelson turned the double play to limit the Scotties' offense. 
-Salem opened the seventh with a lead off walk by Nelson, who slid into third following a double to left field by Mackenzie Kramer, setting the table for Maleah Tate

AGNES SCOTT HIGHLIGHTS
-The Scotties put four across the plate in the top of the second inning. Ellie Settle led off the frame with a single and moved to second after Kenzie Beudoin drew the walk. After the two advanced on a sacrifice bunt, Amanda Barnes connected on a single up the middle, scoring Settle for the games first run. 
-Taylor Selby tacked on the second run of the inning with a single through the left side of the infield that plated Beudoin. Sadie McCallum kept the Agnes Scott bats alive with a double down the left field line, scoring both Bella Leonardi and Selby for the 4-0 advantage. 
-Selby reached on an error to open the fourth, stealing second and third, before extending the Scotties' lead to 5-0 on a sacrifice fly to right field by McCallum. 
-After surrendering two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, Agnes Scott moved its lead to 6-2. Selby provided an RBI single, scoring Barnes from third, to move the lead to four. 
-Amanda Barnes tossed a complete game five-hitter, striking out four batters, allowing five hits and two runs along the way.

SALEM HIGHLIGHTS
-After holding Agnes Scott hitless in the top of the first, Maleah Tate opened the home half of inning with a single into left field. Reese Upton advanced Tate to second on a hit by pitch and the pair bolted home on a double to left by NeVaeha George for the early 2-0 lead. 
-Carmen Duffey delivered the third Salem hit of the game, a double to left centerfield, with two outs in the third before moving to third on a passed ball. 
-Rheanne Tullock reached first base after being hit by a pitch and Tate followed with a base hit up the middle to put two on for the Spirits. Two batters later, George delivered a single down the left field line, reaching second on the throw, as Salem scored Tullock from second. 

AGNES SCOTT HIGHLIGHTS
-Jada Howard delivered the first hit of the game for the Scotties, roping a single to left centerfield. Bryn Greenwood followed with a single to left field, putting two on for Bella Leonardi, who reached on a miscue in the infield. 
-Sadie McCallum worked a bases loaded opportunity in her favor, drawing a walk, as the Scotties cut the lead to 2-1 in the top of the second. Two batters later, with the bases loaded, Taylor Selby came through with a clutch base hit that brought home Greenwood and Leonard, moving the lead to 3-2. 
-Ellie Settle, the third hitter in the Agnes Scott lineup, blasted a three-run home run over the centerfield wall as the Scotties stretched their lead to 6-2. 
-Agnes Scott scored their first run since the second as they lead off the frame with five straight hits, including a leadoff single by Howard. Greenwood followed with a double, putting two runners in scoring position, before Leonardi drove in Howard for the seventh run. 
-McCallum delivered the fourth straight hit, scoring Greenwood on a single, before a bases clearing triple by Preslee Hix stretched the lead to 10-3 in favor of the Scotties. 
-Hix, along with Taylor Selby, scored on a series of miscues as the Agnes Scott lead grew to 12-3. 
-Settle scored on a base knock by Howard, moving the lead to 10 runs, as the Scotties sent 16 sluggers to the plate. Agnes Scott capitalized on a double from Leonardi and a single to right by McCallum, resulting in a 15-3 advantage. 
-Hix made her second trip to the plate in the sixth inning, coming through with a double that made for a 17-3 lead.
-Kyra Hornsby tossed 4.1 innings, scattered five hits and allowed three runs while striking out three Salem sluggers.
