WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Grace College (Ind.) wrapped up Salem's four-day, eight-game homestand with a pair of victories at Blixt Field on Sunday afternoon with an 8-2 win in game one and an 8-2 victory in game two, which resulted in a combined 29 hits.
NeVaeha George posted two hits, including a double, for the Spirits in game one, crossing the plate for one run. Meanwhile,
Carmen Duffey and
Kiersten Nelson were 1-for-3 with an RBI apiece for Salem in the game one setback.
With
Isabella Morales in the circle in game two, Salem silenced the Lancers' bats with four hits, including three in the second, through the first three frames.
Maleah Tate and
Olivia Porter led the way for the offense as they both finished with two hits apiece.
Grace tallied 13 hits in the opening game of the series, with the 3-6 hitters delivering two hits apiece. Six Lancers had at least two hits in game two, including Tia O'Connor, who finished 4-for-4 from the plate. Teammate Bree Gardinier (3-4, 2 RBI, 2 run, HR) was also instrumental in the shutout victory for the Lancers.

NeVaeha George belted a single to left field for the first Salem hit of the afternoon and two batters later,
Kiersten Nelson sent a single to right field, scoring George from third, as the Spirits assumed the 1-0 lead.

Maleah Tate helped manufacture the second Salem run of the game with a single to third. After stealing second and advancing to third on a single through the left side of the infield by
Kayla Dick, Tate came home on a base knock to left by
Carmen Duffey.
GRACE HIGHLIGHTS
-The Lancers strung together three straight hits in the top of the first, loading the bases for Chloe Huff, who lined into a double play turned by
Reese Upton to end the scoring opportunity.
-Grace moved its hit total to seven in the fourth inning, which included a single through the left side of the infield by Huff. After a sacrifice bunt moved Huff into scoring position, Tia O'Connor singled to left, scoring Huff to even the game at one.
-After a throwing error put Avery Sleeth at first for the Lancers, a double off the bat of Sami Lemler put Grace in front 2-1.
-Grace scored three runs in the top of the fifth, capitalizing on three hits and two Salem miscues, to forge ahead 5-1. Bela Duran reached base on an error and scored on a base hit to centerfield by Daylie Richard for the third run of the game.
-Paige McCorkle added a double to right centerfield, scoring Rickard, as the Lancers assumed the 4-1 lead. Two batters later, a sacrifice fly to right by Montana Brincks, allowed McCorkle to trot home from third base.
-The Lancers enjoyed their third straight multi-run inning in the sixth, scoring three runs, including a solo home run to left field by Sami Lemler, which stretched the lead to 8-1.

-Morales tossed her second complete game in as many days, facing 37 batters over seven innings. She allowed 16 hits, eight runs, four earned runs and one walk to opposing Lancer hitters.

-Montana Brincks drove a single to short, plating Sage Ladig, before a single by Gardinier brought McCorkle home from second for the 5-0 advantage.
-Grace brought home two runners in the sixth, stretching the margin to 7-0. The first came on a single from Bela Duran, who scored pinch runner Kali Kahalekomo. Duran reached home on a fielding error with Rickard at the plate.
