>SALEM SET TO FACE BATTLING BISHOPS, PIEDMONT IN WEEKEND SERIES
After hosting Brevard and Southern Virginia in back-to-back days, the Salem tennis team will close out the week against N.C. Wesleyan (April 12) and Piedmont (April 13), completing a grueling four-match in six-day stretch.

The first match of the weekend will pit the Spirits against USA South Conference foe N.C. Wesleyan at 2 p.m. Salem will then make a quick turnaround to the Bert Lain Tennis Center to host Piedmont at 11 a.m. in the first of non-conference bouts to close out the regular season.

>CRUMP, KEIM BATTLING FOR MOST SINGLES WINS IN 2025
After posting two singles victories in her last three outings, sophomore Adley Keim has tied Cymone Crump for the most singles wins (six) among Salem players in 2025.

Keim came through with wins over Ellie Osborne (Meredith) and Hannah Hersh (Brevard), both in two sets, to equal Crump's season mark. Crump reached the six-win mark on the season with a three-set win over Claire Southern (Meredith) on April 6th.

Crump and Keim share the distinction of being the top doubles tandem for Salem in 2025. The two are 7-2 on the season, all as the No. 1 seed, and are 4-1 when facing USA South Conference units.

Crump and Keim are in a three-way tie for the second-most career doubles wins by a pair in Salem history. The tandem of Andrea Akers and Ayla Pruitt were 9-5 as a unit, marking the doubles unit in Spirits history. Makenna Mason and Abigail Williams (7-6) along with Keim and Mariana Faint (7-8) are tied for the doubles unit with the second-most wins (seven).

>BREVARD ESCAPES WITH 4-3 WIN AT SALEM
Sophomore Adley Keim delivered two points for the Salem tennis team, including her fourth two-set win in singles this season, in hard-fought 4-3 setback to Brevard in USA South Conference tennis action on Tuesday at the Bert Lain Tennis Center.

Keim and Cymone Crump paired up at No. 1 doubles to take down Hannah Hersh and Sophie Trantham by a 6-3 score. Meanwhile, Abrielle Eckenroth and Mariana Faint fought past the Brevard tandem of Casey Wampler and Gracie Spangler to emerge with a 6-1 win, giving Salem the doubles point.

Brevard's Jada Ore and Madison Bowen posted a 6-2 victory against Daisy Ortiz Mendoza and Chloe Koons in No. 2 singles, preventing the Salem sweep.

Keim continued her dominance in No. 1 singles, posting a 6-3, 6-1 win over Hersh, move the Salem lead to 2-1. Ore provided the first Brevard point of the afternoon in No. 5 singles, posting a 6-1, 6-2 win over Koons.

Trantham evened the match at two-all with a 6-0, 6-3 win of her again in No. 4 singles against Mendoza. Meanwhile, Bowen's three-set triumph (3-6, 6-2, 6-4) over Crump in No. 2 action forged Brevard in front by a 3-2 margin.

The deciding point for the Tornados came from Wampler, who took down Eckenroth by a 6-2, 7-5 score. Faint provided Salem's third point of the match with a three-set win over Spangler by scores of 3-6, 6-3 and 6-3.

>BUCKLER PREVAILS FOR FIRST COLLEGIATE SINGLES WIN VERSUS KNIGHTS
Salem's Emily Buckler claimed the first singles win of her collegiate career in a 6-1 setback to USA South Conference rival Southern Virginia at the Bert Lain Tennis Center on Wednesday afternoon.

Buckler grabbed her victory over Hailey Seamon in No. 6 singles, battling back from an opening set loss to win 4-6, 6-0, 10-7. Teammates Mariana Faint and Abrielle Eckenroth also came through with a win against the Knights, earning a 6-1 victory over Natalia Molanphy and Elizabeth Ursenbach in No. 3 doubles, allowing Salem to be in the hunt for the doubles point.

However, Jillian Arnold and Lydia Delich evened doubles play with a 6-0 win over Daisy Ortiz Mendoza and Chloe Koons. With the point on the line, Salem's Adley Keim and Cymone Crump battled with Paula Snelson and Remly Fry before falling by a 7-5 margin in No. 1 doubles.

Snelson followed that up by claiming the 6-0, 6-1 win versus Keim in No. 1 singles. Molanphy overcame an opening set loss in No. 5 singles to give the Knights a 3-0 lead with a win over Crump.

The Knights clinched the team win with a 6-1, 7-5 victory by Fry, who downed Koons in No. 4 action. Meanwhile, Sarah Amato handed Faint a 6-3, 6-4 loss in No. 3 play, moving the Knights' lead to 5-0. The sixth point for Southern Virginia came from Delich, who fought past Crump by scores of 4-6, 6-3 and 10-4.

>SCOUTING REPORT: PIEDMONT
All-Time Series Record vs. Piedmont: Piedmont leads the all-time series 3-0-1.

Salem and Piedmont are set to square off for the fifth time in program history on the hard courts on Sunday morning. Piedmont earned a 6-3 win in the first-ever meeting on April 18, 2010 before the two battled to a 4-4 tie the following season.

Piedmont grabbed a 9-0 win over the Spirits when they clash in Winston-Salem on March 30, 2012. Five years later, in 2017, the Lions came away with an 8-1 at the Bert Lain Tennis Center in the most recent meeting between the two programs.

Piedmont is 17-2 overall and 6-0 in the Collegiate Conference of the South in 2025. The Lions head to the Tar Heel State winning seven of their last eight matches since posting a 5-2 win over Millsaps on March 11th. The lone setback in that stretch came to No. 20 Sewanee on March 29th in Tennessee. Piedmont will also play Guilford (April 12th) during its stay in the Triad.

Seven Lions have at least 11 singles wins, including Alyssa McSpadden, who leads the unit with a 17-4 mark. McSpadden has won 12 matches as the No. 1 seed. The top doubles team for Piedmont is Sarah Row and Jordan Ballard, who are 8-3 overall. Six of their eight victories have come from the No. 1 spot.
