Salem Beach Volleyball closed out their season today playing in a tri-match in Lynchburg, VA. The Spirits took on Lancaster and Lynchburg, going 1-1 on the day.
Game 1:
Salem got off to a hot start, taking down Lancaster 5-0.
Mackenzie Tullock and Ellie Scherer played a consistent match, taking down their opponents at No. 1 21-15, 21-16.
Sadie Rich and Jolina Bun took their match the distance at the No. 2 spot, playing three sets. After winning the first 21-19, Lancaster found their stride to take the second 21-13. The Spirits bounced back quickly, however, rolling through set three with a 15-6 final.
At No. 3, Leah Rymer and Ariana Noplos took home a strong 21-13, 21-10 win.
Polly Lennie and Taylor Cook played a solid first set, winning 21-16. Where they really took off was in the second, only allowing four points on their way to a 21-4 straight-set win.
At the No. 5 spot, Molly Enos and Emma Marion played the most dominant match of the day, beating Lancaster 21-10, 21-4.
Game 2:
Salem played a tougher opponent in Lynchburg for their second match of the day, falling 1-4.
Tullock and Scherer kept their match competitive at No. 1, but fell 15-21, 17-21.
At No. 2, Rich and Bun played a close first set, only falling 17-21, but were unable to bounce back in the second losing 13-21.
The No. 3 duo of Rymer and Noplos kept their momentum rolling from match one, taking down Lynchburg in a solid 21-16, 21-14 straight set win.
Lennie and Cook got off to a strong start at No. 4, taking set one 21-16. Lynchburg bounced back to take set two 21-11 and stayed strong to take down the Spirits 15-5 in the third set.
Enos and Marion also fell at No. 5, losing 16-21, 9-21.
