MOUNT BERRY, Ga. — The Salem beach volleyball team put the finishing touches on the inaugural season with two points in a 3-2 setback to LaGrange when the two teams clashed as part of the Briggs Beach Bash hosted by Berry College.
One of Salem's points came as third-seeded
Leah Rymer and
Anna Rymer earned a two-set victory (21-5, 25-23) over Katilyn Gilchrist and Claire Titus. The triumph provided the Rymer pairing with their third win of the season.
Ella Brameus and
Aspen Bradley were responsible for a point for the Spirits, defeating the LaGrange tandem of Rebecca Miranda and Emma Campbell by margins of 21-11 and 22-20. Brameus and Bradley finished off the first Salem beach volleyball season with seven wins, two off the pace established by
Jolina Bun and
Olivia Torres.
Zantrim Choile and Meridith Orton brought home one of three wins for LaGrange, earning a series of 22-20, 21-10 victories against Torres and Bun in No. 1 action. Alla Kehekina and Ella Kahikina were also successful in their clash with
Ellie Scherer and
McKenzie Tullock, earning a 21-18, 21-18 victory.
Bella Zentkovich and Courtney Mullins managed to claim a win in No. 5 singles, defeating
Molly Enos and
Grace Royer by scores of 21-13, 21-16. LaGrange posted a three-set win in exhibition action as Mamie Martenstein and Mary Kate Boswell downed
Haley King and
LindaGrace York by scores of 18-21, 21-11, 15-13.
