SPARTANBURG, S.C. — The Salem volleyball team wrapped up its second road trip of the season with an exhibition win over Sandhills CC (4-1) and a 3-2 triumph against host Spartanburg Methodist on Friday afternoon.
Salem had two wins apiece from the tandems of
Aspen Bradley/
Ella Brameus,
Olivia Torres/
Jolina Bun and
Grace Royer/
Molly Enos. The pair of
Anna Rymer and
Leah Rymer also came through with one win for the Spirits.
Salem 4, Sandhills CC 1 (Exhibition)
Salem claimed its third exhibition win in the last two days and fourth of the season by virtue of a 4-1 win against Sandhills CC.
Anna Rymer and
Leah Rymer provided the Spirits with a point with a 21-12, 21-19 victory over Jenna Luquer and Caroline Bradford. Juniors
Aspen Bradley and
Ella Brameus were also successful in their No. 3 clash with Lainey Mullins and Reagan Smith, posting a 21-12, 21-13 win for Salem.
Competing in just their third match together as a unit,
Jolina Bun and Oliva Torres delivered a 21-9, 21-16 win over Zoey Hall and Julia Emore in No. 4 action. Teammates
Grace Royer and
Molly Enos were responsible for a two-set win (21-9, 21-17) in fifth seeded action against Katelyn Bunting and Kennedy Koziarz.
The lone point for Sandhills CC came in No. 1 seeded play as Aydan Bullard and Nikki Lambert took down the Spirits duo of
Ellie Scherer and
McKenzie Tullock by scores of 21-18 and 21-19. In exhibition action between Jacque Holden and Emery Freeman the Flyers unit posted a three-set win over
Haley King and
LindaGrace York (21-18, 18-21, 15-6).

The Spirits earned their second win of the season and remained unbeaten in head-to-head battles with Spartanburg Methodist following a 3-2 win in the Palmetto State on Friday afternoon.
Katherine James and Brantlie Price picked up a win (21-13, 21-19) for the Pioneers in the No. 1 battle with
Ellie Scherer and
McKenzie Tullock. Spartanburg Methodist also picked up a point in the clash of No. 2 seeds as Hana Vucinic and Layla Vanaernem overcame an opening set loss to post a three-set win over the Salem tandem of
Leah Rymer and
Anna Rymer by scores of 13-21, 21-18, 15-8.
The tandem of
Ella Brameus and
Aspen Bradley came through with a team-clinching win for the Spirits in third seeded action, earning a 21-15, 21-13 win over Brooke Noe and Bailey Beck. Spirit teammates
Jolina Bun and
Olivia Torres also were successful in No. 4 action, posting a 21-15, 21-13 win over Brook Noe and Bailey Beck.
The Spirits brought home a win in the battle of No. 5 seeds as the pair of
Grace Royer and
Molly Enos took down Spartanburg Methodist's team of Rebekah Martin and Tristan Craine by scores of 21-19 and 21-14.
