MOUNT BERRY, Ga. — The Salem beach volleyball team battled through weather delays and an elongated pair of matches before suffering a pair of setbacks at the Briggs Beach Bash hosted by Berry College to Huntingdon (4-1) and the host Vikings (5-0) on Friday afternoon.
Huntingdon 4, Salem 1
The Spirits earned their point by virtue of a win by the No. 4 pair of
Aspen Bradley and
Ella Brameus, who downed Morgan Suggs and Carryne Chancey by scores of 21-18, 21-15. It marked the sixth win of the season for the Salem tandem on the season, second-most of any pair.
Salem's
Haley King and
LindaGrace York also triumphed in the exhibition clash with Hannah Rutherford and Jenna Dupre, fighting back from an opening set loss to emerge with an 18-21, 22-20, 15-6 victory.
Huntingdon claimed a pair of two-set wins in the clash, including a 21-14, 21-19 win by Veronica Tikhomirona and Ariel Hemick, who took down
Jolina Bun and
Olivia Torres. Torres and Bun competed as the No. 1 seed for the first time in 2025. Lydia Hitchcock and Lily Vandyke also came through with a two-set triumph for the Hawks in their clash with fellow No. 4 pair
Molly Enos and
Grace Royer.
Izzy Valldeperas and Ashen Janowski overcame an opening set setback to post a 15-21, 21-17, 15-6 victory over
Ellie Scherer and
McKenzie Tullock in the clash of No. 2 seeds. Eva Ellenburg and Jessi Hilyer emerged with a three-set win against
Anna Rymer and
Leah Rymer in a battle of No. 3 seeds.

McKenzie Tullock by scores of 22-20, 21-13.
Kara Schmitt and Madie Whitehead picked up a point as the No. 3 Berry tandem, taking down
Anna Rymer and
Leah Rymer by scores of 21-18, 21-10. Kat Kelyman and Grace Mau handed Salem's
Aspen Bradley and
Ella Brameus a pair of 21-12, 21-12 losses in No. 4 action.
Lilly Teague and Andrea Hurt were also successful in a two-set win (21-8, 21-11) against Salem's
Molly Enos and
Grace Royer. Laura Underwood and Blakely Barnes picked up an exhibition victory (21-10, 21-5) over
